Black Soap has great clarifying properties that exfoliates dead skin and product buildups; cleansing your skin and hair while improving your skin’s natural radiance.
Black soap, particularly African Black Soap, can be helpful for itchy scalp due to its deep clariying & anti-inflammatory properties. The soap contains oils and natural ingredients great for exfoliating which can clarify and soothe the scalp, as well as lift flakes, helping to remove buildup as well as excessive oil. It’s important to use the soap sparingly, the deep cleansing can leave your skin feeling tight although you may not notice the feeling on your scalp but it may come in the form of mild irritation.
Please keep in mind that the raw form of African Black Soap can cause skin irritation and mild reactions depending on your skin’s sensitivity and how long or how much you use. It’s always good to do a patch test before fully using any product especially in its raw form.
*Remember to consult your doctor for an individualized patch test plan.
To perform a patch test on your scalp for African black soap, apply a small amount (like a dime-sized portion) to a discreet area like behind your ear or the inner elbow. Cover the area with a bandage and leave it in place for 24-48 hours. Observe the area for any signs of irritation, redness, or itching. If there’s a reaction, discontinue use.
Be sure to avoid overuse which can lead to irritation & dryness for sensitive skin. I recommend washing your hair with black soap once per week. You should start to see results in 1-2 washes.
If there is no change that may be an indicator that there is a hyper-sensitivity or the result of [allergic] reactions stemming from an internal issue(s). A harmful organism cleanse may be needed to detoxify the body.
Two more reasons why black soap is beneficial!
Antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties:It contains natural oils and plantain skins that have antibacterial and antifungal properties, helping to manage conditions like dry, itchy, and flaking scalps.
Enhanced circulation:Using black soap and gently massaging it into the scalp can help stimulate blood flow and ensure that hair follicles receive more oxygen and nutrients.
